Jorge TaianaIn a letter sent to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Argentina, Jorge Taiana, CADAL proposed that department that every March 24 a reception should be held in every diplomatic representation of Argentina abroad with the most important local referents in the promotion and research in human rights.

This proposed is based on the incorporation of March 24 as a National holiday in Argentina - National DAy of Memory for Truth and Justice - and the commitment of Argentine President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner in the international promotion of human rights. Thus, every year Argentina would remember all the people who expressed solidarity by denouncing human rights violations in our country during the military dictatorship; it would mean a homage to those who are working the in the defense and promotion of human rights in each country; and in those countries still under regimes that repress basic human liberties, those struggling for them would be recognized, in the same way as many embassies did during the military dictatorship in Argentina.

Finally, the letter signed by Gabriel Salvia - Chairman of CADAL - pointed out to the Argentina Minister of Foreign Affairs the hope that this proposal will be included in the human rights foreign policy of Argentina.
