Yuniel López, invited by CADAL, visited Buenos Aires

The young democratic activist, who gained prominence when presenting himself in the latest municipal elections in Cuba, visited Buenos Aires from August 7th to 12th, to witness the primary elections in Argentina and meet with experts on electoral issues.

Yunel López O’Farrill lives in the municipality of Arroyo Naranjo, one of the poorest in Havana, where he presented himself as an opposition candidate in recent municipal elections. López O’Farrill gained 233 votes in elections that are said to have lacked transparency.

During his visit to Buenos Aires, Yuniel López could appreciate electoral propaganda, considering that Cubans live under a single party regime and proselytizing campaigns are forbidden.

The young Cuban democrat participated in a training workshop on democracy and political parties, visited a ballot in the City of Buenos Aires, was received by the representative of the legislative body of the City of Buenos Aires – Cecilia de la Torre, and was interviewed for Infobae by the journalist Claudia Peiró.
