Human Rights and
International Democratic Solidarity

International Relations and Human Rights Observatory

We monitor foreign policy on human rights, the international relations of autocracies and the internal situation, both in closed societies and in countries where there is an erosion of democratic institutions that curtail civil and political rights and electoral transparency.

This project is inspired by article 27 of the Universal Declaration on Democracy: "A democracy should defend democratic principles in international relations (…) and extend solidarity to those who are victims of human rights violations at the hands of underdemocratic regimes”.

Actions

We promote the globalization of democracy as a universal right and promoter of world peace.

We defend freedom of movement and propose open borders in Latin America.

We monitor and analyze votes in the UN General Assembly and Human Rights Council.

We monitor and analyze the performance of Latin American and Caribbean countries in the OAS and before the Inter-American System as well as in the UN Universal of Human Rights.

We monitor and analyze the behavior of autocracies before the UN Universal Human Rights System.

We monitor international relations and misinformation of autocracies in Latin America.

We recognize the practices of diplomacy committed to human rights.

We make proposals for reform of the UN Human Rights Council.

In cooperation with the Bertelsmann Stiftung (Germany) we translate into Spanish and publish the global trends and regional chapters of the Bertelsmann Transformation Index (BTI) and we analyze the transformational status in countries qualified as autocracies.
