Alonso Illueca
Panamanian academic and lawyer with a Bachelor's Degree in Law and Political Science from the Catholic University of Santa María La Antigua and a Master's Degree in International Law from Columbia University (New York, United States). He is currently a professor and associate researcher at the Catholic University of Santa María La Antigua. He is part of the Permanent Seminar on the influence of China in Latin America of the Liberal Network of Latin America. He has collaborated with the bridge program of the Global Impact Center of the International Republicado Institute, the Andrés Bello Foundation, the Center for Chinese Latin American Studies and Open File. He is the author of the books: Public International Law Course, Pax Panamenia and Human Rights Course. He is a collaborator of the “Synic Analysis” project at CADAL.

Foro China-CELAC: diez años de instrumentalización
Los esfuerzos de China por promover la institucionalización de la CELAC ha llevado a que países con un historial deficiente en materia de transparencia y libertad, como México, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala o Bolivia, adopten posturas ambivalentes y selectivas en temáticas vinculadas a la transparencia, los derechos humanos y la democracia. Al contrario, favorecen una alternativa más transaccional, como es el modelo de la CELAC, y menos enfocada en los valores y principios.
