CADAL signs a cooperation agreement with Freemuse
The agreement establishes that CADAL will be in charge of monitoring, documenting, denouncing and following up on violations to artistic freedom in Latin America. Freemuse places emphasis on human rights in its vision of artistic freedom, as it provides an international legal framework and lays the foundation for accountability, equality, non-discrimination and participation.
The Center for the Opening and Development of Latin America (CADAL) signed a cooperation agreement with the Danish organization Freemuse, an independent international NGO that advocates and defends the freedom of artistic expression around the world.
Within the framework of the agreement, CADAL will be responsible for following up, monitoring, denouncing and documenting the cases of violation of artistic freedom that occur in the region.
All the information gathered by CADAL will then be used as well by Freemuse to elaborate its annual report on the current state of artistic freedom in the world.
