As established in its social statute, the Center for the Opening and Development of Latin America (CADAL) renewed its authorities by appointing the new members of its Board of Directors. To this effect, Sybil Rhodes was appointed President, Carlos Fara Vice-President while Bernabé García Hamilton and Tristán Rodríguez Loredo remain in their respective positions as Secretary and Treasurer.
Sybil Rhodes is head of the Department of Political Science and International Relations at CEMA University, and of the Master's Degree in International Studies. She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Political Science (Stanford University) and a B.A. in Latin American Studies (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill). She is a specialist in international relations and comparative politics.
Carlos Fara has been President of Carlos Fara & Asociados since 1991 and has been dedicated to political consulting for over 30 years. He is a specialist in the fields of public opinion, electoral campaigns and government communication and has received several awards. Among them was the 2010 Aristotle Award for Excellence for the Dream Team of the Year, which is comprised of the ten best consultants worldwide in the field of political campaigns. Also, he has twice been granted the EIKON award (in 2009 and 2012). Fara participated in 138 electoral campaigns in Argentina and Latin America and is a member of the International Association of Political Consultants (IAPC).
Bernabé García Hamilton is a Lawyer (UBA) and holds a Master’s Degree in Business Law (ESEADE). Currently, he is adjunct professor in Economic Analysis at the departments of Law and Social Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). He collaborated in “Civil and Commercial Contracts” by Carlos Ghersi and collaborators (Astrea) and was co-author of “Collection of Jurisprudential Analysis. Civil and Commercial Contracts” by Carlos Ghersi and collaborators (La ley).
Tristán Rodríguez Loredo holds a degree in Economics and Master’s degrees in Sociology (Universidad Católica Argentina) and in Management of Communication Companies as well as a doctorate degree in Public Communication (both from University of Navarra, Spain). He is professor at the Institute of Social Communication (UCA) and at the Department of Communication (Universidad Austral). He has worked as a professional journalist for El Cronista Comercial, Clarín and Editorial Atlántida, was director of the magazines Negocios and Apertura and executive editor of Noticias magazine.
