Adrián Lucardi, Associated Researcher of CADAL, presented a letter before Anti-Corruption Office (OA) denouncing the Federal Administration of Social Security (ANSes) for not complying with decree 1172/03, of access of information, that obliges those agencies under the jurisdiction of the Federal Executive Power to give information to anyone requesting it. The information should be delivered within 10 working days after the request, although in exceptional cases an extension of another 10 working days is admitted. In case the agency does not comply with the request, a report may be files before OA.
On April 21, 2009, CADAL presented a request of access to information to ANSeS, asking for data on the share participation that agency has of private companies after the sanction of law 26.425, that nationalized AFJP. Since then, CADAL received two notification from ANSeS, dated on May 4 and 7. They both informed that the agency would use the extension of ten working days forseen by decree 1172/03. Since that extension matured on May 20, 2009, and 25 working days later no information was sent by ANSes, CADAL decided to present a report before OA.
Since the current government justifies the nationalization of AFJP, and the appointment of directors in private companies, as necessary to "watch over the money of the Argentines", it would be good that at least it informed on the way they are allocating those funds. Only in that way, current and future pensioners will be able to know if "their money" is being taken care of.
