Program Germán Sopeña

The Program has the objective of giving the practical and conceptual tools to perform in media outlets as well as in the areas of institutional relations, press relations, external affairs and corporative communications of business, public sector and civil society organizations. The lecturers are Fernando J. Ruiz, Daniel Muchnik, Néstor Scibona, Hugo E. Grimaldi, Javier Navia, Raúl Ferro, Pablo Cattoni, Facundo Etchebehere, Hernán Maurette and Tristán Rodríguez Loredo.

The Program Germán Sopeña Media and Economics takes place from August 24 till October 12 and it is intended for univeristy students and recent graduates, with 8 classes and a total of 12 hours of class work. It has the objective of giving the practical and conceptual tools to perform in media outlets as well as in the areas of institutional relations, press relations, external affairs and corporative communications of business, public sector and civil society organizations. Germán Sopeña, Argentine journalist and writer, was born in 1946 in Huinca Renancó, Córdoba and died on April 28, 2001. He studied Political Science in Universidad del Salvador and his graduate studies took place at Institute of Political Studies in Paris and at Sorbonne University. In his successful career as a journalist he was in charge of the Economics section of La Nación newspaper between 1986 and 1992, becoming Secretary General of the paper.

The Program Economics and Media bears the name of Germán Sopeña to remember an aspect of his important career and at the same time to highlight his vocation in the training of new generations of journalists.
