The website offers a biography, bibliography, acknowledgements and quotes from Václav Havel. Besides, it gives institutional information on CADAL, the Program Puente Democratico (Democratic Bridge) and the Instituto Václav Havel. Finally, it details the activities of the Institute, among them: the photo exhibit «Citizen Havel», the showcasing of the documentary «The Power of the Powerless», the organization of the «Good Bye Lenin Programme» and a campaign for Latin American countries to adopt the «International Black Ribbon Day» already adopted by the European Union and Canada every August 23 to honor of the victims of Stalinism and Nazism.

The Program Puente Democrático (Democratic Bridge) of the Center for the Opening and Development of Latin America (CADAL) announced the launch of the website of Instituto Václav Havel: www.vaclavhavel.org.ar

With this initiative CADAL seeks to strengthen the activity of its Democratic Bridge Program contributing to keeping alive the legacy of the first President of Czech Republic in the promotion of human rights and the remembrance of communist and fascist dictatorships.
