Argentina and Uruguay 2019: continuation or change?
Can Macri win with two years of recession? Can Frente Amplio lose after 15 years of growth? With the participation of journalist Nelson Fernandez and the political analyst Carlos Fara, CADAL organized the 2019 edition of the Punta del Este Latin American Forum with the sponsorship of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Hotel Boutique Awa and the support of the newspaper El Pais.
In the case of the 2019 elections in Argentina, Carlos Fara addressed the following questions: Can Macri win with two years of recession? Can Cristina Kirchner return? Will there be a third option? How will the electoral process affect economy and governability?
For his part, before the presidential elections in Uruguay, Nelson Fernandez raised the following issues during his presentation: Can the Frente Amplio lose after 15 years of growth? Does the opposition have a chance to unite to win? What is Pepe Mujica’s role in the elections? How will investments affect the electoral decision? How will the vote affect business decisions?
Carlos Fara is a specialist in Public Opinion, Electoral Campaigns and Government Communication. He is the author of the first book in Spanish dedicated entirely to the profession: "How to be a political consultant?" He is Vice President of CADAL.
Nelson Fernández is Correspondent in Uruguay of the newspaper "La Nación" of Buenos Aires. Driver of "Political Keys" in “New Century TV”. Columnist in the newspaper "El Observador" and Director of LEAD / NEWS. He is a university professor and author of several books.
