The Center for the Opening and the Development of Latin America (CADAL) supported the third teaching session organized by the René Cassin Foundation - International Institute of Human Rights (Strasbourg- France) and the Law School of the University of Buenos Aires, together with the French Embassy in Argentina, l'Institut Français of Buenos Aires, the French Regional Cooperation for South America, the Regional Office for South America of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Government of Spain, the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, the Banque Populaire Alsace Champagne Lorraine, the Hermès House and the Conseil Interrégional des notaires des Cours d'Appel de Colmar et de Metz.
The objective of the session in Buenos Aires was to offer a Spanish and French-speaking audience that develops professionally both in the legal area, as well as in human rights, defense and security organizations, as well as in government functions, access to education quality in the field of International Human Rights Law and contribute to the promotion of the latter in the field of national state institutions and their jurisdictions.
René Cassin was Nobel Peace Prize Laureate in 1968. The following year he founded the International Human Rights Institute based in Strasbourg (French Republic), which promotes the protection and promotion of human rights through research and teaching. On December 11, 2015 - after 15 years developing as an association -, the French Prime Minister signed, based on the recommendation of the State Council, a decree that was established by the René Cassin Foundation - International Institute for Human Rights. This allowed patronage and that the Institute could expand and diversify its resources without compromising its independence and neutrality.
