Temporary Refuge for a Colombian Journalist

From June 11 to August 7, as part of its temporary asylum program, CADAL received the journalist Julián Martínez, author of the book Stab Wounds: Eight Years of Espionage and Barbarism (In Spanish, ChuzaDAS: Ocho años de espionaje y barbarie) , which won the 2017 Simón Bolívar Prize for the best book in literary journalism.

Thanks to the support of various international organizations dedicated to defending freedom of the press, the Colombian journalist Julián Martínez stayed in Buenos Aires under temporary asylum. In his home country, he is subject to harassment, surveillance and threats because of the work he does. In Buenos Aires, he was able to continue his work without the need for a police guard. CADAL took advantage of this opportunity to invite him to participate in several activities.
