Foro Latinoamericano Buenos Aires

With presentations by Ambassador Darryl John Dunn, Ricardo López Göttig, Marcos Novaro, Carlos Gervasoni, Tristán Rodríguez Loredo and Horacio Reyser, CADAL launched the research report ''Democracy, Markets and Transparency 2009'' and it was also analyzed the political, economic and business expectations in face of the begining of ordinary sessions of the Federal Congress.

The first meeting of 2010 Foro Latinoamericano Buenos Aires took place at ADEPA's Auditorium with the presentation of CADAL's research report "Democracy, Market and Transparency 2009" and the analysis of political, economic and business expectations in face of the begining of the ordinary session in the Federal Congress.

The Forum began with a presentation of CADAL's research report "Democracy, Markets and Transparency 2009", where Ricardo López Göttig, historian and Director of CADAL's Academic Council, referred to his article "Lessons for ALBA countries: Estonia, Slovenia and Czech Republic".

Then, Darryl John Dunn, Ambassador of New Zealand, referred to the history and different political stages of his country that heads the ranking of the report.

The second panel began with an analysis of the main economic challenges at the Legislative Branch, in chargo of Tristán Rodríguez Loredo, economist, journalist and Director of CADAL's Advisory Council.

Marcos Novaro, Researcher at Conicet and Member of Club Político Argentino, gave a political analysis on the legislative agenda of Kirchner's administration and of the oposition in a legislative fragmentation scenario.

Following, Carlos Gervasoni, Professor at Universidad Di Tella and member of CADAL's Academic Council, complemented the political analysis on the new Congress, including the relationship Nation-Provinces and the presidential candidates that could appear for 2011.

Finally, after listening to the political and economic scenario for 2010 and 2011, Horacio Reyser, Director of CADAL Business Council, referred to the economic and institutional signs needed by the productive sector for the judicial security required by long term investments.
