Among the speakers were the congressman Rafael Yamashiro Ore, spokesperson of Unidad Nacional at the Congress; former presidential candidate Lourdes Flores Nano; Michael Lingenthal, officer in Peru of Konrad Adenauer Foundation; and Gabriel Salvia, Chairman and General Director of the Center for the Opening and Development of Latin America.

Red Puente Democrático Latino Cubano is a plural space where the entities as well as individuals who form it give a priority character, from the institutions of each country, to the respect of fundamental democratic liberties and rule of law. Based on this consensus and on the shared importance regarding international democratic solidarity, the Network has the objective to involve civil society organizations and social Latin American figures in the claim for freedom of association and speech in Cuba, considering that this way it would allow an important space for political opening and the respect of basic liberties in the country where the remaining dictatorship in the region still governs.
