In conversation with UN Human Rights Protection System specialists
On the occasion of the International Human Rights Day, together with UN Argentina, we organized a conversation with independent specialists on various mechanisms of the universal human rights protection system at the UN. The topics were experiences, challenges, and the universal human rights protection system's future. As the opening was led by Roberto Valent, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Argentina, the speakers included Luciano Hazan, Member of the UN Working Group on Forced and Involuntary Disappearances; Horacio Ravenna, Vice President of the UN Committee against Enforced Disappearance; Fabián Salvioli, Special Rapporteur on the promotion of truth, justice, reparation, and the UN guarantees of non-repetition; Tomás Ojea Quintana, Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and Carmen Rosa Villa Quintana, an expert for the UN Committee against Forced Disappearance. The moderator was Brian Schapira, CADAL's Director of Institutional Relations.
