Presentation in the European Parliament
The seminar “Diplomacy and Human Rights in Cuba – Is There a Connection?” was held in the headquarters of the European Parliament in Brussels, thanks to the organization of the Swedish Christian Democratic International Center, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Center for the Opening and Development of Latin America (CADAL). The expositors were: Alf Svensson; retired Swedish diplomat Ingemar Cederberg; Frank Priess of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation; and the General Director of CADAL, Gabriel Salvia.
The seminar “Diplomacy and Human Rights in Cuba – Is There a
Connection?” was held in the headquarters of the European Parliament in
Brussels, thanks to the organization of the Swedish Christian Democratic
International Center, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Center for the
Opening and Development of Latin America (CADAL). Alf Svensson, member of the
European Parliament for the Swedish Christian Democratic Party, made the opening
remarks. Gabriel Salvia, General Director of CADAL, followed him with the
presentation of the English edition of the book “Diplomacy and Human Rights in
Cuba: From the Black Spring to the liberation of the political prisoners”,
coedited by the three organizations that organized this seminar.

Ingemar Cederberg, Swedish diplomat and one of the book’s authors, and Frank
Priess, Deputy Head of the Department for European and International
Cooperation, of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, also spoke.
