Hauke Hartmann
Advisory Councelor
Senior Expert at the Bertelsmann Stiftung and Director of the BTI Transformation Index, which analyzes and assesses the state of political and economic transformation and the quality of governance in 137 developing and transforming countries. He was a Fulbright Scholar at the State University of New York and a Fox International Fellow at the Yale University Center for International Studies. He has a master's degree in North American Studies (Free University, Berlin) and in Latin American and Caribbean Studies (State University, New York). He earned a Ph.D. from the Free University of Berlin for his thesis on United States human rights policy under President Carter.
